Choosing the correct tee to play.

As I mentioned in a previous blog, most amateurs have abysmal course management.  Today we discuss choosing the correct tee to play during your round and which club you use off the tee to give you the best opportunity to score. Teeing off with a driver is not always the best choice, so listen up as I go through this important aspect of your golf game!

If you feel you cannot get to the green in two shots on a par 4 unless you are using the Driver, you are teeing off from the wrong tees.  Move up one set of tees and see how that works for you.  Sometimes using a combination of tees will work on the par 5's and par 3's playoff your usual tees, but on the par 4's, move up one set.  You'll enjoy your round a whole lot more!

Here is a guide on the length of your drive and the yardage of the course you should be playing.

If you hit your dive 275 yards, you should be playing a course at 6700 to 6900 yards

250 - 6200 to 6400

225 - 5800 to 6000

200 - 5200 to 5400

There you go!
