In today's Golf Video Blog, one of my long-time instructors, David Olberding, talks about using an alignment stick to improving your chipping technique!  This drill will prevent the lead wrist from breaking down.  And give you a lot more consistency in your chipping motion!  Place the alignment stick up the shaft of the club.  Hold it flush with the upper hand to create an extension of the shaft.  This is a great way of feeling whether you tend to break down through impact with the chipping (or putting) stroke.  The moment the alignment stick hits you in the ribcage, you know you have broken down at the moment of impact. Head to the practice green and try it out!

This is also a great drill to do at home.  Because it is not a full shot, you can actually hit short pitches, chips, and putts in either your yard, garage or living room.  Use the soft foam balls in your living room, and you won't have any damage to the furniture!
