Today I will discuss how to deal with crosswinds and manage your shot to hit the ball closer to the target.

When you see someone toss some pieces of grass in the air, this is to get the wind direction.  You have to look at the tops of the trees to determine wind strength.  In a notebook (that you carry in your golf bag), keep a note of wind force and how much the ball moves in the air.

For example, if the wind makes the tree's leaves move slightly, let that be a 1.  If the leaves are swaying quite strongly, that will be a 2.  If the branches of the tree are swaying, call that a 3.  Leaves blowing off the tree a 4 and branches breaking a 5. (time to get off the golf course) Not how far the ball moves in the air in each direction and each wind strength.  I have 4 wind strengths, and I know how far the ball will move in each case.  This allows me to make accurate decisions when I'm playing.
