SwingGyde - Teaching Aid Tuesday #24.

Hi, I’m Mel Sole, Director of Instruction at the Mel Sole Golf School, headquartered at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club in Pawleys Island, SC.  We conduct 1, 2, and 3-day golf schools, hourly golf lessons, and senior golf schools—any golf instruction program your heart desires. Give us a call at 800-624-4653 or 843-237-4993.  We will be happy to book a commuter school or a package that contains accommodations, golf, and golf school.

I discuss using the SwinGyde teaching aid to help get a proper wrist hinge in the backswing.  This will help get your swing on a better plane coming into the ball for a more consistent ball strike.

This training aid has multiple uses.  If you get the club up on plane, a small round plastic piece will fit your arm.  Telling you that the club is on plane.  When you start the downswing, you can keep that plastic piece attached to your lead forearm to increase the clubhead's lag on the downswing.  And finally, that small round plastic piece should fit onto your lead forearm once again, telling you that the follow-through is on plane and you have executed the release correctly!

This is one of the most useful training aids I use in my teaching.  The student's benefits are huge, and I have seen students go from an awful swing to a good swing in just a few swings with this training aid.  You can purchase it right here.
