Today Mel talks about course management as it applies to playing in the wind and how good preparation in knowing how far you hit your clubs both with the wind behind and with the wind into you.

If you are serious about your golf game, you need to keep a small notebook in your golf bag.  Use this notebook to keep various information about your golf game. A range finder and a mini launch monitor are also great tools to help your game.

Back in the 80's playing competitive golf, I used the Beaufort Scale of Wind Force to measure wind strength.  I knew all my yardages for all my clubs, both into and with the wind.  This gave me a tremendous amount of confidence, knowing I had the right club in my hand.  Here is a link to the Beaufort Scale of Wind Force.

I hope this is not too confusing, but it is a system that really worked well for me at the time, and I still use a similar system today!
