PGA Class A instructor David Olberding does the tip today. A simple putting drill that can help the beginner understand a good putting stroke's feeling.  This can be done not only on the putting green but also on the carpet in your living room.

Take two sleeves of balls or two golf ball boxes.  Anything to make a track that the putter can work back and through to develop a solid repeatable putting stroke. When I was a beginner in 1963, I remember standing for hours on my carpet in my living room practicing between two golf ball boxes.  I never thought that I would be writing about this one day and posting it in a place called the internet!

An oldie but a goodie.  I learned to put stoke by teaching myself to move the putter straight back and straight through and not touch the boxes.

But the drill has never changed.  Still the golf ball boxes and still trying to make a putting stroke between the boxes.  Wow, nostalgia for me!
