Our host is Carolina Romero of Fit Golfer Girl who did such a great job last week on core strength that we have her on again today   If you have not had a chance to see her awesome core strength video, go here.

The great thing about all these exercises is that you can do them at home at your own pace.  Remember to start out slowly if you are a beginner and are not used to turning.  This is not a race, more of a marathon when it comes to improving your body’s rotation.  Get your instructor to measure your shoulder rotation before you start this program so you can see how much you are improving.  This will spur you on to increase your turn day by day!

Improving the mobility of the thoracic spine.

Carolina gives a nice simple exercise to start you off on your way to a great shoulder turn.  2 sets of 10 reps on each side.  

“Snif the Pit” Stretch.

To improve shoulder turn and neck mobility, this is a great one. 24 repetitions on each side.

Shoulder External Rotation Stretch.

This is an exercise I do regularly since my shoulder operation to get the mobility back into my shoulder. It’s tough, but something worthwhile has never been easy!  Hold for 10 secs on each arm.  Repeat 3 times on each arm. For a little variety try “Scarecrow variances” as demonstrated by Carolina.

Half Kneeling Turns for a great shoulder turn.

These dissociation drills will allow you to turn the upper body while restricting the lower body to create more “torque” in your golf swing.
