Before Rory McIlroy plays a competitive round, he has to prepare himself mentally and physically. His warm-up routine gives him the confidence he will need to execute shots during the round. Make sure you have a structured warm-up routine before you go out and play!
I noticed this reporter starts by saying Rory is hitting some chips. They are actually pitches. Then when Rory is practicing chipping, he says Rory is pitching. He obviously does not know the difference. Chipping is when you fly the ball low, land it on the green and let it run. Pitching is a higher shot that stops fairly quickly when it lands!
Rory's practice session lasted 50 minutes. I see very few amateurs, and almost no club golfers take that long. It takes a lot of time to get your body in a groove to play golf. So, in the future, take more time with your warm-up, and you will play better golf!
Another important element to notice. Hydration and nourishment. Very important before your round. Make sure you do both before your next round.
