Most golfers either do not warm up before a round or maybe hit a small bucket of balls without any consistent regimen or thought.  Learn from one of the world's best players, Jordan Spieth, as he goes through a particular routine each time he prepares for a round.  Remember, this is not practicing; this is a warm-up.  Create your own routine that includes all these elements, and see your scores come down!  Thanks to Step by Step and the PGA Tour for these stats and video.

Here’s what Jordan Spieth does to prepare for a round:

  • Arrives to the practice area 1 hour and 15 minutes before tee time.
  • Starts with a putting alignment stick - 12 putts
  • 12 four foot putts
  • 12 seven foot putts

Then Heads to the range:

  • 17 56 degree wedge shots
  • 7 sand wedges
  • 8 pitching wedges
  • 7 eight irons (and records and reviews swing)
  • 8 six irons
  • 3 four irons
  • 5 hybrids
  • 6 three woods
  • 4 drivers

Then heads to the chipping green:

  • 9 chip shots
  • 8 bunker blasts

Finally heads back to the putting green for 21 more putts.
