Today I will discuss how to hit a pitch shot off an embankment using a baseball-type swing. Another way to escape disaster out on the golf course!!
When the ball is above the feet, the trick is to correct the golf club's length. Gripping down on the club, take several practice swings behind the ball to give the shot's correct feel. Note where the clubface is striking the ground. If the club is striking the ground too far back, grip the club a little shorter until the club strikes the ground in the middle of the stance.
When getting set up to play the shot, aim slightly right of the hole because there is a tendency to pull a shot when the ball is above the feet. Also, consider that by gripping down, the ball will not go as far, so taking an extra club might be necessary. Keep the motion smooth. Don't rush the shot!
