Today David Olberding will discuss how to hit a high hook shot.  Like the way Rickie Fowler used a high hook shot to go over a tree to get on the green at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.  This is another way to escape trouble on the golf course!

To be able to hit the high draw, you need to do three things.

  1. Close the clubface slightly.  Turn the clubface before taking your grip.
  2. Aiming to the right ( for right-handed golfers)
  3.  Have a slight spine tilt backward.  This brings the club more shallow and allows the arc to be slightly ascending, hitting the ball very high!

The big key to learning this shot is to stand on the range and do it repeatedly.  You need to build a repeating motion and trust that you can play this shot on the golf course when you want to! Eliminate the doubt in your mind completely!
