Our continuing series describes top golfers discussing "My best Shot." Rory McIlroy talks about the 2nd shot in the 2008 Hong Kong Open playoff against Francesco Molinari and Lin Wen-tang as his "Best Shot" ever! To hook a shot is no big deal. However, hook a Sand Wedge 50 years from behind a tree, over a lake, and onto the green is probably a feat Rory will certainly never forget. Was he channeling Seve at that moment?
Rory McIlroy is a huge talent, and I can see him winning multiple Majors in his career. Certainly, the most talented golfer to come out of the European Tour since Seve Ballesteros. His future looks bright. He is a polite, sincere lad. I hope that doesn't change as the victories and money start to pile up!
The USPGA Championship looks like the kind of tournament that would best suit his game, and Augusta National will be the hardest for him to win. But I'm pretty sure he'll win that one sometime in the not-too-distant future as well!
