This week's quiz is this:  If a player hits the ball into a hazard and drops the ball following the rules but cannot see the exact point of entry from his drop position, can he use a towel to indicate his line of play?  Please send your answers to melsolegolf@gmail.com.  Please note that this is the only form of entry into the competition.  You cannot answer this quiz on FaceBook or Discus, or any other format.  The only way is via my email address to qualify to win a one-hour lesson at either the SC, NC, or NY locations.

Last Week's Winner.

My question last week involved a shot where my ball landed short of the putting surface.  The ball is close to the green, and I am downhill, down grain, and downwind. Unfortunately, there is a divot on my line with the divot's remnants a few feet further on.  May I replace the divot before I play my shot to make the surface a little smoother to putt over?

The answer is no. You may not replace the divot as it is improving the line of play.  The winner of the quiz is John "Bubba" Rheis.  Thanks for your entry, John.  Please contact me via melsolegolf@gmail.com to claim your one-hour lesson!
