Today Mel Sole Golf School instructor David Olberding talks about teaching yourself how to fade the ball at will. Any golfer that can move the ball right to left and left to right will always be a better player.  David, a natural drawer of the ball, shows how he practices getting the fade just right!

David Olberding demonstrates how he practices hitting a fade.  He sets up a practice station with a white chalk line identifying his target line.  Another chalk line identifying his proposed clubhead path. (outside to in).  And an alignment sticks about ten feet in front and directly on the target line.  David's objective is to start the ball to the left of the alignment stick and keep the clubface square to the target line through impact. This will produce a ball that starts left and fades directly to the target.

David's natural shot is a draw and not a fade, so he has to use this practice station to reinforce both the clubhead path and clubface angle during his practice session.  Continued success on the range will give him the confidence to hit this shot on the golf course with no fear whatsoever!
