Today we talk about chipping.  In particular, keeping your chip shots on line.  It is no good chipping the ball the right distance if you don't have the correct direction.  Here is a simple drill to help keep the clubface square through the chipping motion.  You'll love it!

By creating a gate with two alignment sticks that you are attempting to chip through.  If the ball goes through the alignment sticks, it confirms that my clubface is perfectly square at impact.   If the ball misses the two alignment sticks to the left, it shows you are closing the clubface at impact.  The same if you miss to the right.  Open at impact.

By constantly being aware of the clubface at impact, you can train yourself always to square the clubface.  Work on developing that skill.  Your chipping on the golf course will be more on-line, and you set yourself up to holing more chips.

Alignment sticks are the most useful training aids I know, so please keep them in your golf bag at all times!
