Today Mel Sole Golf School instructor David Olberding talks about doing the exact opposite of what is normally taught with a high success rate.  Give this a try!

The usual way to play an uphill chip shot around the green is to tilt the spine perpendicular to the ground.  Weight the back foot, and allow the clubhead to follow the slope during the execution.

However, the lead Instructor at the Mel Sole Golf School, David Olberding, has a different way for him over the years.

Place the weight more on the front foot and lean into the shot.  This allows the shaft to have some forward lean.  Essentially delofting the club. The follow-through is more into the hill, creating a lower trajectory with a lot more roll.  This is a perfect situation when the flag is a little further back on the green,  and a lofted shot may come up a long way short.  The extra roll will allow the ball to get all the way to the flag!
