The shortest does not make it easiest!
A repost from last year, but topical this week! At 6841 yards, the TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, CT, is the shortest course on the PGA Tour. That does not make it the easiest! In 2014 it was 5th in Total Birdies and 5th lowest birdies from the rough. The 295 yard 15th is a great "risk/reward" hole, and the 481 yard 4th is a beast of a par 4. All in all, it looks like it will be a fun week!
Headlined by an elite field, the players turn to TPC River Highlands for the Travelers Championship. Although it is one of the shortest courses on the PGA TOUR, it packs a punch and has been known to be unpredictable and full of drama.
TPC River Highlands has been the proud host of the Travelers Championship since 1991. The Travelers Championship has the second biggest gallery to attend a PGA TOUR event annually.
The tournament’s champions list includes some of the most recognized and in some cases, most decorated names in golf: Lee Trevino, Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman, Stewart Cink, Phil Mickelson, and Bubba Watson. At the same time, the Travelers Championship has had six men win more than once through 2013 including Billy Caspers 4 wins.
