In our Golf Video Blog series, I discuss having the right mixture of clubs in your bag to help you score your very best.  Understanding the most used clubs on the course and the least used clubs allows you to replace some clubs, enhancing your scoring!

Keep a notebook and keep track of the clubs you hit during a round. After about 10 rounds, see what clubs you use the least and replace them with clubs you think might help. Do that again and see if the replacement clubs have enhanced your game. If not, try something else. You want to do this list at least three times before you will come up with the perfect set for your home course.

For example, How often do you use your driver?  Do you hit the driver well?  Could a 3 wood put you down the fairway more often, thus lessening penalty shots?  How often do you use the longest iron in your bag?  When I was doing this for my game, I had to decide how often I needed to use the 3 iron?  Not very often.  I put a gap wedge in its place.  I use the gap wedge fairly often right now.  That has made my short game a lot better.
