Golf Video Blog by the Mel Sole Golf School.

Today in our video blog, we discuss how to manage your golf game by understanding how far you hit each club in your bag.  Good preparation in golf is like anything else. Being correctly prepared heightens your chances for success! Know exactly how far you hit each club in the air, and your scores will come down guaranteed!

Use a mini launch monitor that you can purchase online for less than $200.00.  It will be the best $200 you have ever spent on your golf game.  I use this device to measure the distance of my clubs but for short pitches of 30, 40, and 50 yards.  Each shot I hit lets me know how far that pitch went in the air.  Once I can start controlling airtime with my pitching, my scores will plummet!

Hit each club in your bag about 10 times and write down the yardages.  Take the average of the 10, which will give you the yardage you will use on the golf course. If I hit my average 7 iron 165 yards and have a 165 yard shot on the golf course, I know that I will hit that ball the right distance on average.  If I mishit it slightly, it will still carry to the front of the green, and if I absolutely flush it, worst-case scenario, it will go to the back of the green.  Knowing your average distance of each club in your bag will hit more greens and lower your scores.
