When you have a Restricted Golf Back Swing, there are a few options you can use.  One would be to play the ball back in your stance and pick the club up more vertical.

Low Shot.

If you have some low branches in your way this would be a good option because the ball will stay low.

More Distance.

If you want more distance then taking the club more on the inside will avoid the obstruction.  For the purpose of this demonstration, I am using my golf bag in place of a tree.  If you don’t want to use your golf bag, you can use an alignment stick.  By practicing this shot on the range, when you are faced with this shot on the course you will know exactly what to do.

When you are on the course, do the practice swing to the side, that way you won’t accidentally move the ball. Get about the same distance from the obstacle, but swing in a different direction so you get an idea of how you want to play the shot.
