Monthly Golf Tips by the Mel Sole Golf School.

If you're struggling with finding the perfect gift for your favorite golfer this holiday season, your search has come to a happy end! In this month's Mel in Motion video golf tip, Mel elaborates on the benefits of using hybrid clubs.  The ideal choice for some of golf's trickiest shots.

For the higher handicaps.

For golfers who have had difficulty in the past in getting the ball up into the air easily, this is definitely an option.  Hybrids are easier to hit than irons, particularly the 3, 4, and 5 irons.  Don't let your ego get in the way of playing better golf.  Try 4, 5, or even 6 hybrids.  See if you hit these clubs better than your 3,4 and 5 irons.  If you do, then it's time for a change to improve your golf game and your enjoyment of a game we love so much.

For the ladies.

Ladies, the players on the LPGA Tour use hybrids all the way to the 6 hybrids.  There are a lot of top players that do this.  So as I have said with the men, don't let your ego get in the way.  I suggest that most of the ladies I teach start their iron set at a 7 iron.  You won't be sorry that you did!
