Hybrid clubs are a golf club that combines the best things about a wood and an iron into a single club. It is also shorter in length for more control and distance than a long iron offers. Those who struggle with consistency with long irons may have more success with hybrids.  However, there are secrets to making great shots with hybrids. Mel Sole shares those essential tips for getting the most from hybrid clubs in this month's video golf tip.

Both the LPGA and the Champions Tour players all hit hybrids instead of their long irons,  As you get older, the hybrids are just a lot easier to get airborne.  With ladies and higher handicapped men, the same applies.  Ditch those long irons and put a 5, 4, and 3 hybris to replace the 3, 4, and 5 irons. When hitting a hybrid, take a slight divot as you would an iron.  There is no difference between hitting an iron or a hybrid.
