Today I talk about keeping your backswing "on-plane."  It's as easy as shaking hands!

Get into your normal setup position.  Extend your rear arm back as if you were shaking hands with someone.  The palm would be perpendicular to the ground, and the arm would be fully extended.  Now put both hands on the club and extend your arms to put the rear arm in the same position as previously without the club.  This is the perfect backswing position.

Continue taking the club back until your rear arm reaches the "tray" position.  The rear forearm is perpendicular to the ground, and the club is pointing parallel to the body line. You are now in the perfect backswing position.

This is an easy way to get the backswing "on Plane" and perfectly set to the top of the backswing.  Do this indoors if you don't have the time to get to the range!  The constant repetition of these two positions will make your golf swing a much more consistent and efficient motion!
