In our ongoing Golf Video Blog series, I talk about another way to improve the extension through the golf ball.  To finally get rid of that dreaded "chicken wing," there is a drill that will get you into a position to really improve your ball striking in the coming year.  Check it out!

Start with a Lob wedge or a Sand Wedge, and don't swing back more than letting the shaft reach parallel to the ground.  As you swing through impact, make a conscious effort to extend the RIGHT arm!  Obviously, because the left hand's hand is above the right hand, the left arm will automatically extend out.  DON"T RUSH THIS SHOT! Take your time.  Start with 25-yard shots, slowly build to 50 and then 65 and finally into the full swing.  You will start making better contact with the ball and see your scores come tumbling down!

Thanks for watching - New Extension Drill - Technical Thursday #16. Try this in small increments.  Don't try and do a full swing until you can do the half swing correctly!
