Here are 3 simple exercises that you can do every day in your home.  I have an old driver leaning against my fireplace at home.  Every time I walk past, it is there to remind me to do some stretches.  That way, barely a day goes by when I do not do these 3 simple stretches.  The only piece of equipment you need is either your driver or a broom handle.  Do these stretches before you tee off if you do not have time to warm up on the range.  Do these to get started even if you do have time to warm up, and you will have an easier time getting into "full swing mode."

Details of the Simple 3!

  1. Place the club across your shoulders, get into your golf posture, and then into your backswing position. Hold that position for at least 10 seconds, take a deep breath in, breathe out, and stretch a little further.  Please don't force it.  Just go as far as you can go and stop.  Don't forget to do both sides.
  2. Hold the club with both hands above your head and lean over sideways.  Again, hold at the tightest point for at least 10 seconds, take a deep breath in, hold, breathe out and stretch a little further.  Don't forget to do both sides.
  3. The final stretch is to hold the club in the crook of your elbows with the club in the small of your back.  Get into your golf posture and then into your backswing position. Hold that position for at least 10 seconds, take a deep breath in, breathe out, and stretch a little further. Finish with turning back and through without stopping in a nice fluid motion!
