On Tee Stretches - Fitness Friday #2.

This is Fitness Friday!  Aimed at the golfer who does not go to the range to warm up. You cannot play well like that!  You want to do some stretches while you are waiting for the group ahead to clear the fairway.  Do these stretches using your golf cart.  If you have stretched and warmed up the muscles of your back, neck, calf, and hamstrings, you WILL play better golf!

Take both hands and grip the roof of the cart.  Put your feet fairly close to the cart and lean back as far as you can.  Put your head between your arms to get an excellent stretch of the back.  Twist slightly to one side and look between your arms—a perfect twisting motion.  Do the same on the other side.

Take your foot and put it up on the floor of the cart, and push down gently.  Do that for 10 seconds two or three times.  Do the other leg as well.  This is for the calf muscles and ankles.

Stand facing the same way as the cart and grab the window uprights and lean the hips outwards.  This is a great stretch of the lats.  Again, do both sides.

Those are just a few of the things that you can do to get your body ready for a good round of golf!
