Some people learn by feel, while others learn visually. Here are the 10 key elements to both feeling and visualizing the correct positions for a winning golf swing:

Here is the routine needed prior to Visualization for Winning Golf 

Pre-Shot Routine.

Once you have taken into consideration

  1. The area you want to hit the ball – be very specific.
  2. Wind – how it is going to affect the flight and distance.  This will affect club selection.
  3. Terrain – are you going uphill or downhill?  This will affect club selection.
  4. Good lie or Bad lie.  Is this also going to affect club selection?  
  5. Only after this will club selection come into play, based on the previous 4 decisions.

The Shot.

After all these factors have been taken into consideration, walk behind the ball and look towards your target.  Remember the target is not necessarily the flag.  You might have opted to go slightly right or left of the flag depending on where the trouble is.  Take a practice swing in the same direction as you are hitting the ball.  As you finish that swing, visualize the ball sailing into the air, curving the way you want it to curse, and softly landing exactly where you want it to land.

You have now programmed your subconscious to hit the shot.  Walk into the ball and make your swing.  Good shot or bad, you have prepared yourself for success.  

As you continually do this routine, your body will get more and more comfortable with this until it becomes habit.  Once this process is automatic, you will see real positive results!
