Senior Golfers - Hit it further than you ever have!

Hi, I’m Mel Sole, Director of Instruction at the Mel Sole Golf School, headquartered at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club in Pawleys Island, SC.  We conduct 1, 2, and 3-day golf schools, hourly golf lessons, and senior golf schools—any golf instruction program your heart desires. Give us a call at 800-624-4653 or 843-237-4993.  We will be happy to book a commuter school or a package that contains accommodations, golf, and golf school.

Every Golfer on the plant wants to hit it further - Even Bryson Dechambeau!

If you are a senior golfer, you have already realized that you are slowly losing distance. But it's not inevitable!

Here are some things you can do to gain every inch of distance possible.

Use a longer Tee.

Tee the ball up higher and tee it slightly more forward in your stance.  This will allow you to hit the ball on the upswing, giving you less backspin, a higher launch angle, and more roll when the ball hits the ground.

Flare both toes out about 30 degrees each.

My friend and mentor Phil Ritson used to call this the "Daffy Duck" stance.  This allows a slightly more hip turn on the backswing which automatically gives you more shoulder turn. So naturally, more shoulder turn produces more power!

Swing your practice swing much faster than normal!

You have to get your body to feel "speed." So make your practice swing much more aggressively than you would with any other club.  This puts your body automatically into the "Speed" mode.  When you step up to the ball, you will automatically swing harder - and hit the ball a lot further!
