Focus for a full 18 holes in 2021!

Most golfers do not give each shot their complete attention for a full round.
Here are a few things you should take into consideration before each shot. Please note that these things will become a habit after a short time, and you will not have to take much extra time over the shot. Some of these things (like wind) you can decide even before you get to your ball.
Where do I not want to go? I have seen top PGA Tour players make poor decisions on this one.
Where do I want to go? One the green or next to the flag is not always the right answer. If there is trouble on the left, you want to err slightly right (or visa versa)
Wind. Is the wind strong enough to influence the ball? Remember to consider the wind high up (by looking at the tops of the trees) rather than ground level. The ball is going to be flying high!
Elevation. Is the target higher or lower than you are? If higher, take more club. If lower, less club.
Lie. If this is not a tee shot where the ball is teed up, the lie is crucial to the shot's execution.
Finally, the distance the shot is playing. NOT the distance between you and the target. By taking all of these factors into account, you can develop the actual yardage the shot is playing. Take your club for THAT distance!
If you want to lower your scores this year without changing your swing or spending time on the range, this is definitely a way to lower your scores.
