This is the first in a future series of "Women at the Helm" in the golf industry.  Gender bias is slowly working its way out of corporate America. I will be happy to report on the increase of leading women in golf.

NBC.

We start with Molly Solomon, 10-time Emmy Award winner and longtime NBC Olympics producer.  She became the first woman to serve as executive producer for a national sports network in 2012.

Golf Channel.

Solomon oversees all aspects of production and programming on Golf Channel.  Including tournament coverage, news, original productions, and operations. 

KPMG.

Molly is a keen golfer.  She has been working closely with the KPMG Women's Leadership Summit. This venture fosters mentoring of younger women by women who are in positions of power. The idea is to empower junior females who are advancing in their careers to become leaders.

Executive Producer and Senior Vice President, Productions and Operations, Golf Channel

Ten-time Emmy Award-winner Molly Solomon became the first woman to serve as executive producer for a national sports network. 

Gracie Award.

Solomon won a Gracie Award from the American Women in Radio & Television for her Beijing work. 

For NBC’s coverage of the 2008 Olympics’ opening ceremony, she received the honor of a prestigious Peabody Award.  She has been nominated for 22 Sports Emmys.  Winning 10 in her NBC career.

Georgetown University.

A Phi Beta Kappa member.  Solomon graduated magna-cum-laude from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 1990.
