"Put a Smoothie on it!" is one of my favorite sayings when playing a wedge shot.  Your wedges are your scoring clubs, not your distance clubs, so learn to hit these clubs with pinpoint accuracy! Thanks to this video by Golf Digest and David Leadbetter, the way to do that is to swing smoothly.  Watch and learn!

According to David Leadbetter, there are 4 pillars of great wedge play.  Here they are.

Take one more club.

If you take one additional club, you will automatically swing easier because you know that the ball will go over the green if you hit it hard.

Grip down on the club about 1".

Gripping down on the club, no matter what the shot, will be a lot straighter. Even with a driver!

Narrow your stance.

When you narrow your stance again, you automatically swing easier because you know if you don't, you'll lose your balance.

Swing Smooth.

Create a mantra in your head to improve swing rhythm. Then, allow impact with the golf ball to occur in the same place in the mantra every time.

Lower your scores with more control in your wedges.
