Eliminate 3 putts - Short Game Saturday #38.

Today David Olberding, Mel Sole Golf School lead instructor, talks about controlling your distance with your putting, both short and long putts.  Three-putt no more, my friend, watch here!

By setting up various stations at different distances, you can develop a great feel for distance control. David sets up 4 balls at 10 feet, 15 feet, 20 feet, 25 feet, and the final from a monster 50 feet.  A similar drill to what Jordan Spieth practices.

It is the same principle as a basketball player shooting hoops.  If the first shot is short, he shoots the next one harder. Too hard, he shoots a little softer—no difference with the putting.  If our first putt comes up short, hit the next one harder.  If the next one goes too far, hit the next one a little softer.  By having each putt as an adjustment on the previous putt, you can train the subconscious to know exactly how hard to hit each putt on the golf course.

Do this drill just before you tee off to set the feel in your subconscious.  You will have a no 3 putt day!
