Dig Your Feet In.

Digging your feet indefinitely helps when you play a bunker shot.  This is not to give you a better footing or lower your body, but to feel the texture of the sand!  This will help you determine what club you should be using and how you will play this shot before you mindlessly step up and hit! Playing out of wet or compact bunkers takes a special technique, so here a pro from free-online-golf-tips.com, explains the finer points!
