Continuing our theme this week of "wind and rain," I talk about playing out of wet bunkers.  The wind is also blowing quite hard, so wait until the end of this video to see my trusty cameraman David Olberding who is really struggling to hold on but never gives up in his quest to get the entire golf tip filmed.  Thanks so much, David!

When playing out of a wet bunker, you will experience a lot more resistance with the clubhead through the sand.  Wet sand is heavier than dry sand, so you definitely have to swing slightly harder.  The other thing is the arc of the club is a lot shallower than we normally use.  In dry sand, there is a quick wrist hinge, and you are hitting down and through.  Don't hinge with the wet sand but use a takeaway that is more like a normal golf swing. Low with tiny wrist hinge.  Try and feel like the club is going to slide through the sand with a very shallow divot.  Use the bounce of the sand wedge or lob wedge to achieve this.
