We've seen hole-in-ones on the Pro Tour and the odd one by amateurs while we're playing. It's surprising how many happen, given that the chances are about 1 in 45,000 of making an ace.

One of my favorites happened at the Mark Eaton Celebrity Golf Classic at Red Ledges in Utah. There were one million dollars on the line, and an 'average Joe,' a restaurant manager, steps up to the tee. A well-struck shot bounded to the back of the green, but the slope brought the ball back and rolled right into the cup!  The reaction of all those involved is fantastic.  I wonder what was going through his mind as he frantically ran towards the green, screaming in delight!  For me, I would be thinking as I took the ball out of the hole, "What can go wrong that will prevent me from winning this prize?"  Always the skeptic!
