Today we talk about casual water, both through the green and also on the green.  Know this rule and save yourself some strokes on the course the next time it rains.

Casual Water is water found on the course that is not normally there. Created by rain or some other water source, this can be disruptive to your shots.  The good news, you can take free relief!  The bad news, NOT nearer to the hole!

Whenever casual water exists and your ball is in it, or it is in your line of play on a putting green, lift your ball and look for a dry area not nearer the hole to either drop or place (on a putting green) in an area completely free of that condition.

Always remember, the rules are there to help you.  So it is always a good idea to study up on the rules.  You never know when your knowledge is going to save you strokes.
