The Greatest Come-Backs in PGA Tour History!

All lists are subjective, but quite honestly the 2 greatest come-backs in my book were Johnny Miller in the 1973 US Open at the tough Oakmont CC and Billy Casper at the 1966 US Open.

Johnny Miller came from 6 shots back and overtook Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Lee Trevino.  When told of Miller's 63 in the final round, Jack Nicklaus quipped "Did he play all the . . .

Tim Clark finds the answer!

Tim Clark finds the answer!

Tim Clark is the only player on the PGA Tour, I know of, who has used the anchored putting method since day one.  When he started to play golf he used this stroke.  He has not experienced any other type of putter or putting stroke.  At one stage Tim Clark put out such a impassioned plea to Tim Finchem of the PGA Tour, that Finchem (for a brief moment) considered changing the rule back.

However, pressure from the USGA and the R&A finally won and the ban was . . .

Will Bubba Watson walk away from golf?

Will Bubba Watson walk away from golf? (after 2 more wins)

A Golf Video Blog with Mel Sole, Director of Instruction and Master Professional at the Mel Sole Golf School headquartered at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club in Pawleys Island, SC.

The Top 15 Nicknames of Professional Golf! Love #12!

Don't you just love nicknames!  When I was in High School they called me "Shoe" because my last name was Sole.  Later, after I had turned professional and was playing on the South African Sunshine Tour, it changed to Soley!  I think most nicknames are terms of affection or maybe descriptive, like Boom Boom, because Freddy Couples hits it so far.  Some can certainly be nasty like "Volcano" which was meant to describe Steve Pate's volatile temper.  Not a name to be proud of.

The PGA Tour’s 10 Exciting Most Finishes in 2015!

We are just one week away from the start of the 2016 PGA Tour season.  A perfect time to reminisce and go over the most exciting finishes on the PGA Tour in 2015!  What exciting moments did you think were left out?  Comments below if you wish.  My personal moment was watching Padriag Harrington return to the winners circle.  I love this guy!  He always has a smile on his face, walks along with a strange gait, but is always entertaining.  I wish these were more of his type around. Nice guys don't always finish last!

Kevin Na, PGA Tour Player

Kevin Na Is Badly In Need of a Clear Key

Watching Kevin Na try to pull the trigger during the Players Tournament made most of us squirm. He did his best to keep up by sprinting at times between shots, and he even yelled at himself to hit the ball! A simple solution to this problem is dispensed every week of the year to golfers at the Mel Sole Golf School . . .

Davis Love III

Wie could learn from Davis Love III

Michelle Wie and her latest brush with rules infraction was disappointing. In contrast, Davis Love III's 1995 win at the Zurich Classic was a great show of sportsmanship. The lesson here for all golfers is that knowing the Rules of Golf will benefit your game. Learn the Rules or face certain peril . . .
