Friday, Nov 5: Leave your Departure Airport on the flight of your choice to Oliver Tambo International Airport outside Johannesburg.  Flight is approx. 15 hours – includes lunch & breakfast.

Saturday, Nov 6: Arrive at Oliver Tambo Airport in Johannesburg on Saturday, Nov 3rd.  Transfer to an internal flight to George, Cape Province at 11:50 am.  Arrive George at 1:45 pm. Transfer to Fancourt Hotel.  Overnight Fancourt Hotel.

The Fancourt Hotel & Country Club

Fancourt is famed for its four 18-hole Gary Player-designed championship golf courses. There is also a Golf Academy. Additionally, the Golf Shop offers a wide range of golf clothing and equipment. Fancourt has a Health and Beauty Pavilion complete with a heated Roman Bath and Jacuzzi as well as a hair salon. There are also saunas, steam rooms, and gym. Other facilities include four tennis courts, squash, two outdoor swimming pools, an indoor heated family pool, and bowls.

Dinner is available at your choice 5 on-site restaurants.

Overnight at the Fancourt Hotel and Golf Estate.

After breakfast each day, we’ll play 18 holes on Fancourt’s  Outeniqua, Montague, as well as the Links Courses at Fancourt.

Sunday, November 7th: Montague Course

Tee time: 11:10 am

The Montague is a much-celebrated parkland course. It has been ranked as the number-one golf course in South Africa in the past. It has recently undergone major renovations with several holes being redesigned and has two completely new holes – the 1st and the 9th. ” We believe the new-look course, which has now grown in superbly, has been restored to its former glory where it will once again hold its head high amongst the best in the world.”

Monday, November 8th: Outeniqua Course

Tee time: 11:10 am

South Africa Golf and Safari Vacation 2021

Fancourt Outeniqua Course.

The Outeniqua Golf Course was named after the mountain range that runs along the Garden Route coast. This parkland layout is not as popular as Montagu and the Links. Mainly due to aesthetics and nothing more. The Outeniqua Golf Course takes in a setting of mountains, water, and wildlife. The Outeniqua short par-four 4th will keep big hitters guessing. Whether or not to go for it and face the risk of the waterway that dominates the right side of the green and fairway, or play it safe and lay-up! Since golf at Fancourt is limited to members, their guests and hotel guests, they have ample time to play at their own pace and take in the golfing experience that is Fancourt.

Cart $30 ($15 per person sharing)) Caddie cost including tip $30 total per person. It is recommended that each foursome take 1 forecaddie.

Tuesday, November 9th: The Links at Fancourt

Tee time: 11:15 am.

This is without a doubt, the most impressive piece of golf design and construction ever in South Africa. Fancourt owner Dr Hasso Plattner took a very hands-on function in the creation.

He commissioned a golf course, which would not only be a thorough test for every golfer but would also rank among the top courses in the world. Gary Player’s design team spent months studying the classic links courses of Scotland and Ireland. Armed with inspiration from the best that those countries had to offer, embarked on the ambitious task of recreating some of their finest holes to make a genuine links test on what was once an airfield.

The result is awe-inspiring and has elicited praise from some of the world’s finest golfers. The Links was the host venue for the 2003 Presidents Cup, which ended in a historic tie after a dramatic playoff between Tiger Woods and Ernie Els. In early 2005, it was the host venue for the Women’s World Cup of Golf, which was won by the diminutive duo of Rui Kitada and Ai Miyazato of Japan.

You can enjoy the Spa, Pools or Gym later in the day and then book dinner at one of Fancourt’s various eclectic restaurants.

Cape Town

Wednesday, November 10th: Depart George at 1:00 pm to Cape Town.  Arrive at 1:50 pm. Transfer from the airport to The Taj Hotel.

South Africa Golf and Safari Vacation 2021

Lobby of the Taj Hotel.

Embodying the unique ‘Tajness’ you can feel with your eyes closed, five-star Taj Cape Town Hotel captures the history as well as the spirit of Cape Town’s inner city with all the opulence and exoticism of the East.

The hotel has seen many of the epochal events in South Africa’s history. The elegant structure—a perfect synthesis between what were originally the Reserve Bank and Board of Executives (BoE) buildings, and a modern tower—combines the legacy of a bygone era with the luxury of the new.

Taj is optimally positioned to immerse guests in the intoxicating energy of the city. Opening onto the bustling St George’s Mall, it’s nearby many of Cape Town’s foremost attractions and foodie destinations, along with a multitude of historical hot spots, galleries and boutiques.

The Taj

Opulent rooms make guests feel like royalty, with spectacular vistas of the famed Table Mountain and cityscape.  Leisure as well as business travelers are warmly welcomed, with the Reserve at Taj offering comprehensive amenities for conferences, meetings and celebratory occasions. The lavish Bank Hall is the ideal location for an inner city wedding with decadent décor that includes dangling chandeliers, marble columns and banqueting tables fit for feasting.

Food is something Taj takes very seriously. With the best Indian fine dining offering in the city, the Bombay Brasserie’s five Indian chefs elegantly speak the language of spice. For more relaxed dining, there’s the multi-cuisine Mint, while afternoon tea and the famed breakfast buffet are served in the sky-lit lobby. Additionally, the Twankey Bar serves up a selection of sensational cocktails celebrating stories and spice.

Other amenities include a fully-kitted gym, cigar lounge, Taj Club floor, art gallery, library, indoor pool and the Jiva Wellness Spa, where guests are revered as gods and treatments are inspired by age-old Eastern wellness philosophies.
