See some spectacular Kingsbarns golf holes here!
Located directly on the North Sea coast only six miles from St. Andrews, Kingsbarns Golf Club is without a doubt one of the most breathtaking links courses ever developed. Kingsbarns Golf Links is indeed a real one of a kind and a contrast with Scotland’s other famous links courses in that it is a new, man-made development. There is a prominent view of the sea from every hole and your senses are continually engaged with the sights, sounds, as well as the smell of the ocean spray. The links boast spacious fairways, which roll and twist through majestic dune ridges and hollows, while its large inviting greens present the golfer with subtle challenges. Tee times are 10.50, 11.00 & 11.10.
TBD 2020: Today after breakfast we will golf at either the Old Course (those who succeeded in getting a tee time via the Ballot system) or the St Andrews New Course or the Jubilee Course. As someone who has played all of them, I feel the New Course is a better golf course but does not have the history of the Old Course. After golf, we will transfer to

Today after breakfast we will transfer to the delightful Champany Inn not far from Edinburgh Airport. We will play golf at Dunbar Golf Links. Tee times are 2:27, 2:36 & 2:45 pm.
First laid out in 1856 and redesigned over the years by the likes of Old Tom Morris, Ben Sayers and James Braid, Dunbar East Links has a pedigree second to none. As befits such a gem of golf course architecture, it has played host to countless national and international championships. The British Boys’, The Scottish Amateur, Scottish PGA, Scottish Boys’, British Ladies’ as well as the Ladies Home International Championships have all played here. This course has also been a final qualifying course for the Open when played at Muirfield.
Interestingly Dunbar hosted the first PGA Championship on the European Tour in 1968 (now contested each year at Wentworth as the Tour’s flagship event).
Well defined holes following the natural contours of a narrow strip of land between the old red sandstone deer park wall and the rocky shoreline are the hallmarks of these links. At a little over 6,500 yards, it is not the longest championship course, but any golfer thinking this equates to a lack of challenge will soon be put right. This course was built upon those old-fashioned golfing virtues of club selection and shot making. With the ever-present – and ever-changing – wind off the sea, it demands accuracy as well as judgment, and rewards only bravery and skill.
We will all have dinner at Dunbar Golf Club and after our meal will drive into Edinburgh to attend the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo – without a doubt a highlight of the trip!
Overnight at Champany Inn
Today after breakfast we will play golf on the Gullane Golf Club #1. Tee times are 2:56, 3:04 & 3:12 pm.
The history of Gullane No. 1 Course stretches back to 1884. Carved into the ancient links turf, pot bunkers, wispy grasses and smooth-running greens the course is a unique challenge for the serious golfer. Add to that the fabulous views across to Edinburgh, the Firth of Forth, Fife and beyond and you unquestionably have one of the world’s most cherished golfing experiences.
Not surprisingly, the course has been the setting for a host of highly acclaimed tournaments including the 2015 AAM Scottish Open and final qualifying for the Open Championship on five occasions. Additionally, on four occasions the Scottish Amateur Championship as well as the Ladies British Open Amateur Championship have both been hosted over No. 1.
