Follow along and see the two components of the forward press that just might make a difference in your putting stroke.  It did with mine!

The forward press while putting is a matter of preference, but all golfers should give it a try to see if it helps achieve more consistency on the putting green.

The forward press is just that, a forward press.  It occurs just before the stroke starts and has two components.

Press before you start.

Once you are in your putting stance press your hands forward towards the hole.  The butt end of the club should move forward about 1 inch.  This will flatten the slight cup you might have in your lead wrist before yu stated the stroke.  Then make your putting stroke and keep your lead wrist flat going through to the target without any breakdown.

Hold at the finish.

Get into the habit of holding your follow-through to make sure that the puter face is still square to the intended target line.  This is a move that almost all PGA and LPGA players do.  The next time you are watching golf on TV, watch for this to see just how important it is.
