This is how you increase your golf swing speed!

Our weekly host, Carolina Romero, aka The Fit Golfer Girl, uses SuperSpeed Sticks in her workout to increase her golf swing speed!  I have been promoting Super Speed Sticks since the beginning of the year and have had fantastic results.  However, Carolina adds some great gym workouts to go along with and compliment the SuperSpeed Sticks workout. If you want to increase your swing speed, use this combination of exercises and Speed Stick Workouts!

Gym Workout.

Glute warmup:  Critical for golf swing speed.

1 Lateral Banded walks. With a band around your ankles walk laterally.  10 steps in each direction.

2. Back and Forth Banded Walks. With a bank around your ankles, walk back and forth.  10 steps in each direction

3. Banded Glute Bridge. Place the band above the knees and make sure you’re using your glutes to elevate your hips.

4. Side Plank. Do Side Planks for 30 seconds on each side.

5. Paloff Press. With a band attached to a door or wall.  10 presses in each direction.

6. SuperSpeed Swings. 10 times with the light SuperSpeed Stick in each direction at about 70% of your max speed.

SuperSet #1:

Deadlift: Dumbbell, Trap Bar or Barbell. 10 Reps.

Super Speed Sticks – Protocol #1.  Both left and right-handed with all 3 sticks. Repeat 3 times

SuperSet #2.

Half Kneeling Turns: Band/Cable Use a band or a cable giving you lateral resistance. Get into a half-kneeling position making sure the leg away from the anchor is forward. Keep your hips stable and your arms extended rotate away from the wall. Switch to the other side after 10 reps.

SuperSpeed Sticks – Protocol #2. Get into a kneeling position and start swinging the club as hard as you can for 5 reps.  Switch directions and repeat with each of the 3 weights.

SuperSet #3.

Lateral Shuffle to toss: (To wall or partner) Start in an athletic stance, start a 3 step shuffle away from the wall and then back again tossing the ball against the wall as hard as you can. Repeat 10 turns on each side.

SuperSpeed Sticks – Protocol #3. With the SuperSpeed sticks raise your right foot as you swing back and step into the swing as you swing down and through.  Do this 5 times with all 3 clubs and repeat on the other side.
