Today I discuss the 3 poor course management decisions Jordan Spieth made while still winning the Travellers Championship. A Tournament, I think he should have won by 4 shots.
If Jordan Spieth had asked himself the question, "Where do I NOT want to go?" before he had played his shot into the green on 16, he would have aimed more to the right and not hit the ball into the lateral hazard. And again, on 18, if he had asked the same question, he would not have left his send shot short in the bunker. He did the same thing in the playoff! Now, he won the tournament, so what's the big deal, you ask, but there should never have been a playoff. He should have won the tournament outright by asking the right question.
This is a question you need to ask yourself on every shot you hit on the golf course. Be it a putt, chip, bunker shot, pitch, iron shot, or drive. You will definitely score a lot better because you will make smart decisions based on your ability and not what you hope to do! Try this the next time you go out and play. At the end of the round, you'll say, "Thank you, Mel!"
