Today I talk about swing mechanics and how getting your body into the correct sequence will help your game.  The 40 to 50-yard pitch shot is one of the most critical shots to master.  As I often say in my teaching, "I have never seen a good golfer who cannot pitch, and I have never seen a poor one who can!"  This, to me this is the foundation of the golf swing.  So for all you higher handicap golfers who would like to lower your scores as quickly as possible, this is the shot to practice!  This is something you can even do in your backyard.  Swing a club as often as you can, focusing on the correct technique, and you will be happy with the results!

The 3 keys are

  1. Weight the front foot and keep it there throughout the shot.
  2. Hinge the wrists on the backswing and keep the lead arm straight.
  3. Good body rotation through the shot is critical.  Hips finish all the way through to the target.
