Hi, I’m Mel Sole, Director of Instruction at the Mel Sole Golf School, headquartered at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club in Pawleys Island, SC.  We conduct 1, 2, and 3-day golf schools, hourly golf lessons, and senior golf schools—any golf instruction program your heart desires. Give us a call at 800-624-4653 or 843-237-4993.  We will be happy to book a commuter school or a package that contains accommodations, golf, and golf school.

Today we talk about keeping stats on your game, so you know your strengths and weaknesses.  If you work only on your weaknesses, your game will constantly improve.  You will slowly bring your handicap down over a sustained period whether you use "Game Golf"  like I do or use another stats program available on your iPhone.  As long as you are using it to expose your game's weaknesses, you will become a better golfer.

Using "Game Golf" or a similar device like "Arcos," you can track each shot.  You can also measure the distance each shot goes.  After my round, when I download my Game Golf Device onto my computer, I can tell exactly how far I hit each driver and each iron.  I can measure proximity to the hole with each pitch and chip.  And I can also see where I am gaining and losing strokes using the "Strokes Gained" section.

By having all this data, I know exactly what part of my game I have to lower my sores.  If you are a 20 handicap, you can set the device up to compare your game to the average 20 handicaps.  Amazing!
