I am at the Club de Golf Malinalco in central Mexico.  And in Mexico, they say No hay prisa.  There is no hurry!  I have always said,  "The slower your body moves, the quicker the body learns!"

Incremental Learning.

What is incremental learning, and how can it help your golf game?  Incremental learning is exactly the way we learned almost everything we knew growing up. Step by Step, slowly but surely.  We learned to walk, talk, and do things that we take totally for granted daily lives.  So why not golf?  When we get to adulthood, we want everything right now, and as we all know from experience, golf is not that type of game.  So be patient, learn slowly, exactly how I show in this video, and your golf game will grow incrementally into a powerful swing that is dependable on a day-to-day basis!

Backswing.

Learn that you start the backswing with the chest.  This gets everything moving together in one piece.  By placing the butt end of the club against your sternum and holding the club down the shaft, you will feel that to start the club back without the butt end of the club getting stuck in your shirt. It would help if you turned the chest away from the ball.  If your grip pressure is soft, the wrists will hinge automatically at the top of the backswing.

Downswing.

Start the downswing with a lateral bump of the lead hip.  Do this in a rocking manner, moving the weight from the back foot to the front foot with the hip bump.

Finally.

Swing through with a strong body rotation ending with all the weight on the front foot and the hips facing your target.  Do this at home in your living room.  Sometimes close your eyes and get the feeling deep into your subconscious.

The next time you go to the range to practice, your body will already know the correct sequence! Technical Thursday #69 No Hay Prisa.
