When you were in Grade 1, and you were learning to write, the teacher made you do it slowly, over and over.  She did not expect you to write at the speed of an adult right away.  The same thing applies to the golf swing.  I have been telling my students for years to do their drills at a slow speed in the beginning because the slower you do your drills, the faster the body learns.  Think about it.  If you are a beginner or high handicap, you cannot expect to hit the ball proficiently and at the speed of a Tour Pro right away.  Jeff Ritter explains how to learn to "gear up" as you become better at doing a certain drill.
