Today Mel talks about chipping to a split-level green.  Make sure you land the ball on the bottom level with a fairly straight-faced club to get more consistent results.

When you are chipping to a split-level green, and the furthest part of the green is higher than the front, you need a low lofted club and get the ball on the bottom level and let it roll up the hill.  Taking a lofted club like a sand wedge or a lob wedge leaves a high probability that the ball will not land on the top level, hit the slope, and come rolling all the way back down.

Use a club like a 6 or 7 iron and land it on the bottom level with some speed.  By practicing these shots, you will get a feel for how hard to hit.  Very few golf courses have practice green with many slopes, so sometimes you have to do your practice while playing.  If there is no one behind you, drop a few balls. Try using a 6 or a 7 and see what type of shot is needed to get the ball near the hole.
