We talk about what you can do to get your body in shape to improve your golf game. In this Video Blog, I talk about simple stretches that you can do in the comfort of your own home without any equipment.  All you need is a mat (if you are indoors) or a towel (if you are outdoors) to lie on.  The exercises in this video are the exercises you should be doing at every opportunity! The flexibility created by this will allow your body to function to maximum speed in all future games.

Start by lying flat on your back and extending your arms above your head.  Try and stretch your body lengthwise as far as you can.  This is a great stretch for your spine.  Next, extend your arms outward and flat on the ground.  Bring your knees up so your feet are close to your butt.  Keeping the shoulders flat on the ground, roll the knees over as far as you can.  Just allow the weight of the legs to pull down and do not force it.  Hold for about 10 seconds, and then do the other side.  Do 2 or 3 reps of this stretch.

Now straighten one leg and lift the other straight up.  Roll the leg over as far as you can.  Again, allowing the weight to do the work.  Hold for 10 to 15 seconds, and then do the same for the other side.

Add these exercises to the one from last week, and you’ll have some great rotational speed in your golf swing!
