On Thursdays, we discuss the techniques that will make your golf swing more consistent and increase your distance off the tee.  Today we talk about a huge distance robber, back pain!  If you are swinging with a sore back, you cannot swing freely and lose much power.  We talk about how to make sure you can have a pain-free golf swing!

As you start the downswing, allow the chest to move forward so that the sternum is over the front foot at the impact position.  As you continue through, allow the body rotation to take you to a full follow-through finishing with a straight spine.  This move will not only improve back health but improve your weight shift as well.  A win-win situation!

To get really comfortable with this motion, do lots of practice swings at home in the yard.  Once you can finish "Straight Up" on your follow-through, you can take it to the range and then finally to the course.
