Man's best friend can be a wonderful companion on the golf course. But ONLY if the dog has been fully trained not to interfere with the game of golf.  Many courses in the U.K. allow dogs, and golfers have trained their Labradors, spaniels, etc. For example, to heel on command, find a wayward ball and never enter a bunker or a green.  It works out well..pooch gets exercise, and both dog and owner share companionship.

Many viewers have asked me about the dogs (and cats) of both PGA and LPGA players.  So here is your wish!

Americans have only a minimal number of dog-friendly courses due to less interest in the training involved. But since we all love dogs and golf, enjoy these pictures of famous Tour Players and their Best Friends.
My favorite comical one is Jason Dufner and ".Prince Louie."  See the resemblance?
Thanks to the Golf Channel for sharing these great pics!
